As a field applications scientist who works with magnetic levitation, Danielle Twum (PhD) combines her training as a cancer immunologist with the new skills she has learned working for a biotech startup. She acts as a liaison between the company and the customer. Her job entails explaining how the company’s technology works to potential clients who do not have the same scientific background and vocabulary. She knows how to make her physics-heavy job sound very accessible to others. In this episode, we chat about her journey into the science field, discuss the importance of acquiring transferable skills coming from academia into working in industry.   She also talks about her ambassadorship as a AAAS IF/THEN Stem ambassador and so much more!
