Lameck Mbangula Amugongo, from Namibia, is a student at the University of Manchester in the UK. He refers to himself as a "Tech Activist" who loves to inspire more people to be involved in the field of technology. Lameck's background is computer science; however, he is now studying towards his PhD in Cancer Sciences. This might not make sense to some, but he explains how he applies machine learning and artificial intelligence to his PhD to inform treatment for lung cancer. In this episode, he talks about this research. He lets us know about the DARABIGDATA program that he is also involved in. We also discuss the importance of training young Africans to develop African centered apps through the Google Developers Group initiative that co-lead in Windhoek, Namibia. Lastly, he discusses the importance of digital literacy amongst ordinary people, especially as the world moves towards the fourth industrial revolution.
