 Phumlani Msomi, from South Africa, is a chemistry lecturer and researcher at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, where he is one of the youngest members in his faculty! He believes that Africans need to work on technologies that can make Africa an industrial place to solve the problems faced by the people who live on the continent. He is currently working on developing new types of power sources that are cleaner and environmentally friendly. In this episode, Phumlani explains his research in which the use of power sources such as fuel cells, flow batteries & ethanol batteries as an alternative to the lithium battery currently on the market. The research aims to provide people in rural areas of South Africa with self-sustainable energy. Sounds like a good plan, right? Well, to hear more about this, you have to tune in!
