Show Notes

Adama Saccoh is originally from Sierra Leone; she is now based in the United Kingdom(UK). In this episode, we learn that Adama came to continue her studies in the UK and aspired to be a medical doctor. Unfortunately, that dream did not come true, Adama explains that after processing the rejections, she realized that she craved knowledge and she could feed her need for knowledge by pursuing other STEM opportunities. Currently, Adama is an MSc student in Medical Ultrasound. She is studying echocardiography- i.e., using ultrasound to image and diagnose various heart conditions. We also find out that Adama has a blog, TheCatlystInMe (TCIM), which started as a hobby to fix a problem that she faced in undergrad of not knowing what to do with her degree. She profiles people across the world as a source of representation and "an idea starter" for anyone thinking of a career within the life or healthcare science fields. Lastly, we discuss a survey she conducted on the people's perception of science, especially during the world pandemic. Take a listen for all this and more.
