My guest today is Jason Amartey a PhD student in medicine originally from Ghana but living and studying in the United Kingdom. He's currently a PhD student in medicine at Nottingham University. But before that, we get to hear the origin story. In this episode,Jason gets real with us about his high school career and some hurdles that he faced in the latter part of his school career. He went on to pursue a biomedical degree for undergraduate studies. Currently, his PhD research is on a type of cardiovascular disease called ischaemic disease. Jason explains exactly what that is and the importance of conducting this research. 

Further, we hear about other projects he's part of CanvasofLife, a brand that he co-founded with his best friend. Secondly, being part of the organizing committee for BlackInCardio a campaign celebrating and showcasing black people in the field of cardiovascular research across the globe.
